FAQS

How does Afterpay work?
Afterpay allows you to shop now and pay later, always interest-free. With Afterpay, your purchase will be split into 4 payments, payable every 2 weeks.

Simply shop with one of your favorite stores found in the Shop Directory and choose Afterpay as your payment method at checkout. First-time customers will need to create an Afterpay account (with instant approval decision) and returning customers will simply log in to make their purchase.

For online orders, the goods will be shipped to you by the retailer after checkout. For in-store shopping, download the Afterpay mobile app, follow the in-app instructions to set up the Afterpay Card, and use the Afterpay Card with Apple Pay or Google Pay to make a contactless payment at checkout. You’ll pay 25% at the time of purchase, and take your purchase home that day. It’s that easy!

At any time, you can log in to your Afterpay account to see your payment schedule and make a payment before the due date. Otherwise we will automatically take the money from your debit or credit card on your payment due dates.

Is Afterpay safe and secure?
We understand how important security is so we ensure that your personal information is protected. Afterpay is a PCI DSS Level 1 certified compliant Service Provider organisation.

PCI DSS is a comprehensive set of requirements created by the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council to enhance cardholder data security and to ensure the safe handling and storage of sensitive credit card information and data. This is the highest level of security in the payment industry.

What should I do if my goods haven't arrived or have arrived damaged?

Any issues with the delivery of your order or condition of goods should be raised directly with the merchant. You can normally find a merchant’s contact details on their website. If the merchant has provided their contact details to Afterpay, this information can also be found on the order details page within your Afterpay App.

What if I want to return part of my order?
Returns are always subject to the individual merchant’s policy, which can typically be found on their website or by contacting them directly. If you make a return and the merchant processes a refund, it will automatically be reflected in your Payment Schedule — further details are below.

What happens to my payments when I refund an order?
In general, refunds are applied starting with your final payment and working backwards to earlier payments.

Full Refunds
If you have returned an order in its entirety and the full amount of the order is refunded, any upcoming payments will be cancelled and any payments you have already made will be refunded back to the card you paid with.

Partial Refunds
The same principles apply if you’ve returned a portion of an order and received a partial refund.
